Be careful however, stainless steel does not mean 100% resistant to everything! Indeed, chlorides or salt can oxidize the steel but if you take good care of your sink, oxidation will never be an issue.
Prochef sinks are made of 18 gauge stainless steel, so they are high-quality and very durable sinks. The gauge of stainless steel refers to its thickness: the lower the gauge, the thicker the steel and therefore the stronger the sink. A high quality stainless steel sink will be made of 18 gauge steel, rather than the 20 gauge steel found in more economical sinks.
